I Personally Prefer Righteous Fire Totems – PoE

We have got a brand new league, namely the Bestiary League. This one brought a lot of new content, including new poe items, skills, and crafting options. On top of this, the Ascendancy classes have been tweaked.

path of exile guides

Spectral Shield Throw Gladiator
Have you ever wished that Captain America was a playable character in PoE? You’re not the only one. The PoE community has been eagerly awaiting the release of the spectral shield throw skill since it was announced. Now that it’s here, you can prove that the best defense is a good offense, by tossing a ghostly copy of your shield at your enemies’ heads.

Patch 3.2 is the Hierophant’s turn to get some big buffs, and they are projected to utterly dominate the Bestiary League. The author has always been a big fan of totem builds, so the Totem Hierophant variants are probably going to be my number one pick in this league. The only reason the Spectral Shield Throw Gladiator made the top of the list over the hierophant is because Spectral Shield Throw is brand new, sounds hilarious, and should at least be tried out by everyone.

The two recommended Hierophan builds use Righteous Fire Totem or Lightning Bladefall Totem, but really any totem build will work. I personally prefer Righteous Fire Totems, but it’s completely up to you. To use Righteous Fire, you would normally need a deep life lifepool, lots of life regeneration, and a ton of fire resistance to survive the fire degeneration damage that the spell does to your character.

Tectonic Slam Slayer
Do you like to do huge DPS? Do you like to run at your enemies and cut them down with a giant, two-handed sword in your best Braveheart impression? Then this is the class for you. Slayers are quite possibly the most DPS-focused class in PoE, and can absolutely carve through Wraeclast with a two-handed weapon equipped.

Tornado Shot Raider
If you’re not a big fan of magic, or really one for melee combat, don’t worry, you’re not forgotten in the Bestiary League. The Ranger has always had a solid set of Ascendency Classes to choose from, and in Patch 3.2 it seems that the Raider has pulled to the front of the class.

It is important to note that this class is somewhat light on defense, with your lifepool, dodge, and evasion being the only things to stand between you and gruesome death at the hands of a tough enemy. Fortunately, if you’re playing a ranged class, then you’re presumably accustomed to kiting enemies from your experiences in PoE and other games.

PoE Is An Awesome Game with Lots of Things To Do

Overall, Path of Exile is an awesome game with lots of things to do. The build diversity is exciting, new content is constantly added, its free to play without shoving microtransactions down your throat and has an engaging endgame that has a clear path of progression.

poe guides

The only thing that I consider to be a downside is the difficulty for new players. When I first played the game, I didn’t look up any information about how many offensive/defensive passives to take in the skill tree, the importance of linking skill gems together, or important stats to look for on pieces of gear.

After playing both Diablo 3 and Path of Exile, I have concluded that Diablo 3 offers an easier and more laid back levelling experience, while falling short in the endgame content. Path of Exile may take some dedication to make it through the levelling portion, but the endgame is more than worth it. In Diablo 3, it was easy to switch a build on the fly while levelling, which let you try a lot of playstyles and find the one that suited you. In Path of Exile, the skills you gather feel permanent (although they can be changed) which leads to more attachment to the character you are playing.

However, Path of Exile’s endgame is (in my opinion) much more engaging than Diablo 3′s endgame. Path of Exile has a modifier system to affect armor, weapons, jewels and even the maps that you clear during endgame. While Diablo 3 scales enemy health and damage as the level of the map (or rift, in Diablo’s case) increases, Path of Exile increases the effect that modifiers have on maps. THIS is where the difficulty and sense of accomplishment comes from. In addition, Path of Exile has a variety of endgame bosses to gear up for, kill and eventually farm, which is much more entertaining than the few reskinned endgame bosses that Diablo has.

All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend that you try Path of Exile if you are still considering it. If you are starting the game and finding it to be a bit slow, don’t worry, it speeds up considerably as you progress through the game. Good luck, exile!

Path of Exile Have Fixed their Mistakes – 3.2.1 Patch Notes

Grinding Gear Games have released the latest expansion for Path of Exile, the new “Bestiary League” campaign. Now U4gm shares with you What Bug Fixed in Path of exile 3.2.1. U4gm PoE currency as an expert, U4gm website, offers secure, quick and low-cost poe orbs for you.

The team has finished working on a 3.2.1 patch with some Bestiary improvements and many bug fixes. We’re planning to deploy this patch tomorrow.

  • You can now trade Beasts with other players. Just buy a Bestiary Orb from Einhar and then use it on a specific Beast in your Menagerie. The resultant item can then be listed on trade sites and traded to other players via the secure trade screen. To let the monster out of the item, just right-click it. Adding a beast to your Menagerie this way does not grant progress towards the “Complete the Bestiary” challenge.
  • Added two new sets of Beastcrafting recipes. The first set of recipes create various item level 86 Six-Linked Body Armours. The second set of recipes create Tier 1, Tier 2 or Tier 3 Rare Talismans.
  • The Beastcrafting recipes that create an item with a specific type of mod now work on base types that you provide (and scour that item first). This allows you to craft that type of mod onto a specific base type that you prefer.
  • Added 3D art for the Indigon unique helmet.
  • Added a mini-map icon for dead Bestiary Rares and Legendaries.
  • Re-ordered Beastcrafting Recipes so that the more valuable recipes are grouped together near the top.
  • Bestiary Uniques dropped by Spirit Bosses are now allocated to the Menagerie owner.
  • Throwing a net at a group of monsters now intelligently chooses a nearby target (higher-rarity first).
  • Increased the speed of throwing nets.
  • While a Necromancy Net is equipped, Corpse Targeting is now possible by holding down the assigned hotkey.
  • Slightly increased the amount of time until a beast is captured in a party to better allow multiple party members to capture the same beast.
  • Beasts that enrage now gain a damage reduction that decays over time, in order to prevent accidentally killing a beast that you want to capture.
  • Einhar’s capture dialogue no longer plays 100% of the time.
  • Slightly increased the volume of the audio played when a beast breaks free of your net.
  • Added a keyword that item filters can use to disable default drop sounds. The keyword is “DisableDropSound”.
  • After capturing a Beast, if you only have room in your Menagerie for one more of that genus, then a message warns you that you’re running out of space.
  • Added a text output to chat when successfully capturing a beast.
  • Reduced the amount of nets dropped by Bosses. Slightly reduced the drop chance of nets overall.
  • Summoned Carrion Minions can no longer be captured. Carrion Minions that spawn naturally can still be captured.
  • Beasts spawned by Tora missions can now be captured.
  • Bestiary Rares and Legendaries can no longer spawn in Oba’s Cursed Trove. Nets are no longer usable in this Map.

What Are the Ups/Downs of Necromancer Ascendancy Changes, PoE?

I just respecced some of Necromancers on Standard and they all feel like they got buffed. Skeletons are just crazy. I suppose the baseline for an Ascendancy “it’s twice as good” aka Soul Weaver for Spectres but mods like Skeletons can’t miss AND +2 max are way better than that.

My Baron Zombie necro – can I drop my 2 Violent Dead threshold jewels for some Ghastly Eyes right? It’s like they baked Violent Dead into the Ascendancy. Aaaand +2 zombies?! I have been able to drop some Strength for some quality of life while keeping over 1500 strength. This is a goofy build I use a level 1 Dominating Blow and the minions last a really long time because of Puppet Master + Mistress of Sacrifice.

My gear is able to cover my resists so I can drop Army of Darkness and try to make it up with +10% Minion resist on jewels. Correct me if I’m wrong – the baseline minion Elemental resists are 40%? That means I want 35% from jewels and/or the 16% from Herd the Flock and/or the 20% from Army of Darkness? What builds were nerfed? Max block Bone Offering in end game boss fights? Builds using The Scourge? I don’t have any of those.

Only thing that got nerfed was the self-offering node. Skeletons got the biggest buff, along with the fact that there is a better node between the skeleton and spectre nodes. Zombies technically got “buffed”, but their dps is still pretty bad compared to a budget skeleton setup, and the chaos degen requires different support gems to scale it well compared to the usual generic physical gems. Oh, and you’ll still need to run 2 violent dead jewels for slam cooldown.

Spectres are still as crazy as they have been since the desecrate change, and skeletons are also op now for the price of 2 ascendancy points. One skeleton can do upwards of 200k+ shaper dps alone, not to mention 10 or 12.

Casting SrS is much slower as last League. Buying path of exile Items, Jewels for SrS cost that much cause Spectres and all other Builds are much played right now and want same JewelsStats mostly. Playing SrS since 6 Leagues now and it lost much of its Goodness -.- Its still ok but looking what other METABuilds Items cost makes me sad… Now i have to look for more Castspeed from Tree and Jewels and tradeoff MaxLife for it.

What Kind of Practical Implications Might that Have, PoE?

So, circlejerking aside, one of the most interesting changes the Elementalist gained (and the Scion – partially) were the changes to Beacon of Ruin.

Specifically these:

  • Chills from your Hits always Slow by at least 10%
  • Shocks from your Hits always increase Damage taken by at least 20%
  • Based on what Mark_GGG has said previously, the way these work is that if you would chill or shock, regardless of your damage dealt (but you need to deal at least 1 point of chilling/shocking damage) your shock/chill magnitude can never be below 20%/10%.

Pretty good so far – but it gets better. Increased ailment/shock/chill effect applies on TOP of this base magnitude! This means the 20% increased effect of non-damaging ailments on Beacon of Ruin mean that these nodes essentially mean that you are applying a minimum 12% chill and 24% shock.

In order to bring these effects to their maximum magnitudes of 30% for chill and 50% for shock we need to get a total of 150% increased ailment effect for shock and 200% for chill. We get 20% for free so thats 130%. For shock it looks like the easiest way to stack this up is to use the Unbound Ailments support – which has 30% increase ailment effect at level 20 and using a skill like Arc or Shock Nova, which have 29 and 39% increased shock effect respectively!

Bonus points for including an Inpulsa’s which has an enormous amount of shock effect. In this way with a small amount of shock effect investment we can turn a lightning skill with ZERO investment into lightning damage into a guaranteed nearly 50% increased damage taken effect on any target! Including shaper!

It is very important to take the time to level up at the beginning of the game. Whenever you need to buy poe items, you can turn to U4GM for help. We has cheap poe items for sale.

Path of Exile 3.1.0 Passive Skills Tree Changes

Every character in Path of Exile has access to the passive skill tree. The passive skill ‘tree’ is a large network of stats and raw attributes increases for the player’s character. All classes use the same tree, but start in different places. When a character levels up or completes certain quests, he or she gains one skill point. A skill point allows the player to allocate a node on the skil tree, provided that it is already connected to an allocated node. This is how the character’s passive ‘path’ is formed. Just a remind, don’t forget to from to poe buy currency, which is the best choice for Path of Exile currency services on the market!

One more thing that sets Path of Exile apart from most ARPGs is its enormous skill tree. Consisting of more than 1000 nodes, it looks extremely complex if you are looking at it the first time, but don’t worry – building your character using skill tree is not as hard as it looks.

As I mentioned before, all classes share this tree but each character class starts from the different area of it. Upon leveling up, you receive 1 passive skill point that you can allocate within the skill tree.

There are several kinds of skill points within the tree – Regular passive skill points, Notable Passive skill points, and Keystone skill points. Notable passive skills differ from regular ones by being larger and having stronger effects, Keystone skill points, however, have a bigger impact – they change the way your character is played. Usually, Keystone skill points have positive effect + drawback, for example, Point Bland keystone skill point makes your close range attacks deal much more damage and reduce damage for farther traveling projectiles. Another example would be Resolute Technique keystone – your hits never miss but you cannot critically strike.

There are also skill points that look like sockets – when you allocate those, you unlock jewel slots. There are lots of different unique jewels you can use in your skill tree, some of which are mandatory for a few builds like Vaal Spark or Golemancer. Most of the time it’s worth unlocking jewel slots because you can buy/find great rare jewels that boost your damage or survival capabilities. Below you can see how jewel slot looks.

If you have allocated a skill point earlier and want to refund it, there is a poe currency for that – Orb of Regret. Another way to reallocate skill points is to obtain respec points from quests (let me note that there is a finite amount of quests that can give you that).

If you are new to the game and don’t want to mess up your first build (which will probably still happen), follow some build guide from our website. Another option is to just mess around yourself and see how things work but sometimes it can get frustrating if you cannot kill monsters/progress further, so be careful with it.

The Sin and Innocence Mystery Box – Path of Exile

GGG have introduced the Sin and Innocence Mystery Box which contains over 38 new microtransactions inspired by Sin and Innocence themselves and other Act Five content.

path of exile news

Each Mystery Box costs 30 points and guarantees one microtransaction with value equal or greater to that of the box. Many of Mystery Box cosmetics can be combined to create a blended version of the two designs for even deeper character customisation. The possible outcomes from your mystery box range in value from 30 points all the way up to 320 points!

What’s the Deal?
Below GGG have included some handy information, including the rarity of each microtransaction and the price it will be available for in the store. Every microtransaction in this mystery box will be available in the store roughly one-month after the Bestiary League ends. Whenever you need poe currency, you can turn to U4GM for help. We has cheap poe orbs.

The microtransactions are grouped into three rarities: Common, Uncommon and Rare. The microtransactions within each rarity are equally likely. Here are the odds of receiving a microtransaction from each rarity:

Rare: 20%
Uncommon: 35%
Common: 45%

Combining your Rewards
Many of the microtransactions in this mystery box can be combined. For example, if you receive both the Sin and Innocence Helmets from their respective armour sets, you can combine these to receive the blended Sin and Innocence Helmet.

Please note that this is a permanent process and they cannot be separated once combined. If the microtransaction you’re looking at doesn’t have the gold symbol this means you either need to acquire the other half of the pair or it’s not possible to combine it with another microtransaction.

The microtransactions that can be combined are the Sin and Innocence Armour Set Pieces, Sin and Innocence Cloaks, Sin and Innocence Wings, Sin and Innocence Portal, Sin Talon and Innocence Laurel Helmet Attachments, Sin and Innocence Footprints, Sin and Innocence Sword Skins and Sin and Innocence Sword Pets.

These microtransactions will also be available in the store approximately one-month after the Bestiary League ends. You’ll still be able to get them by combining Sin and Innocence Mystery Box microtransactions or through direct purchase. Their purchase price will be twice the original microtransaction. For example, the blended Sin and Innocence Footprints will cost 160 points which is the equivalent of purchasing the individual Sin and Innocence Footprints for 80 points each.

How to open your Mystery Boxes?
After purchasing some Sin and Innocence Mystery Boxes, you can find them in the Consumable section of the microtransaction stash in-game waiting to be unwrapped.

Note that these Mystery Boxes have random outcomes. Some items are rarer than others (as listed above). You are guaranteed to get an item that is worth at least what you paid for it (30 points) and it’s statistically more likely that you’ll receive something of higher value.

Outside of microtransaction value, there are no guaranteed outcomes. Duplicate items are possible.

Did You Know What The Effects of Microtransactions in PoE?

To a certain extent, PoE needs microtransactions to exist. Because it is a free-to-play game, PoE’s developers do not have a steady stream of subscription income to rely on for producing content and implementing patches. Instead, microtransactions keep the lights on at Grinding Gear Games, while players enjoy one free content expansion after another.

And yet, PoE has not succumbed to the vices of other free-to-play games. Some other titles, known derisively among gamers as “pay-to-win” games, allow players to purchase game-changing (and sometimes game-breaking) content that can elevate them above other players irrespective of skill or time invested. I won’t call out any games specifically, but some general examples of pay-to-win microtransactions are the purchase of bonus experience, allowing players to buy some of the game’s most powerful weapons with real-world path of exile orbs, and putting the most powerful characters and classes behind a paywall.

PoE has nothing of the sort. Instead, Grinding Gear Games has explicitly avoided releasing any microtransaction content that would give the player an unfair gameplay advantage. This is laudable, as allowing certain players to have a superior in-game experience simply because they have slightly deeper pockets is in decidedly poor taste. Instead, PoE features several cosmetic and quality of life microtransactions that allow players with a little extra cash have a slightly glitzier PoE experience without actually changing the way the experience gameplay itself.

The Effects of Microtransactions in PoE
As already mentioned, all of the above categories of microtransactions are exclusively cosmetic and convenience-based and have absolutely no effect on gameplay. They are simply a way for players who have some extra cash to customize their UI and their character’s appearance, should they wish to do so.

This approach to microtransactions avoids turning PoE into a broken, pay-to-win mess, and instead allows loyal players to support the game they love while making themselves look cool. In turn, Grind Gear Games is able to use the money from these cosmetic microtransactions to continue putting out massive, free expansions. Where other developers seem to nickel and dime you by selling you their game in overpriced pieces, Grinding Gear Games almost seems to be giving away too much for free in PoE.

PoE Have Been Introducing Many Powerful New Items

As you know, GGG have substantially buffed most Ascendancy classes and have been introducing many powerful new poe items. The metagame has already shifted quite a lot due to these changes, so various larger changes have had to take place elsewhere. GGG’ve called out a few in this article.

path of exile news

1. Zana doesn’t have Breach this league
Ever since we introduced the concept of different Zana levels adding league mods to maps, we have been cycling the mods in and out. While we occasionally run some back to back, we often take crazy ones away to let other ones have time in the spotlight.

2. Monster Rarity Damage Modifiers
This one is a little complex, but the TL;DR is that your mods like “monsters deal reduced damage” now actually work properly in a lot more cases.

3. The full explanation:
In Path of Exile, there are many things related to the rarity of monsters (Magic, Rare, Unique) that increase the damage of those monsters. For example, a map mod might increase a boss’s damage. In addition, the rarity of a monster itself adds an intentional bonus to its damage (which is why rare monsters do more damage than magic, and unique monsters do more damage than rare). Historically, these damage bonuses were always intended to be multiplicative (so that they actually had a decent effect), but were implemented as additive.

Oni-Goroshi is a whole lot harder to find
Needless to say, people with Oni-Goroshi can level up very quickly. At its 3.1.0 spawn rate, a popular strategy is to farm the Twilight Strand for four hours to get the sword, and then having an easier time with the playthrough.

4. Bisco’s Collar Nerf
The increased quantity of items from slain normal enemies has been reduced from 50-100% down to 35-50%.

5. New Sextant Rules
You’ll see the following change in the patch notes:
There is now a limit to the number of Sextants you can apply to your Atlas. The base maximum is 1, but this limit is increased by completing bonus objectives and Zana’s quests, up to an absolute maximum of 5. Adding Sextants above this limit removes the oldest one. Existing Atlases will keep their Sextants, though applying new Sextants will still remove the oldest one. You can see which Map has the oldest Sextant by hovering over the new Sextant display on your Atlas.

PoE: Why Does Bestiary League Feel Like Doubling Down on Vorici?

For those of you that weren’t around for Talisman league it worked like so: you killed a monster that was possessed by and dropped a talisman (special amulet base). There were four tiers, all dropped corrupted. The only way to upgrade was to place five of one tier into an altar to create ONE (read: single talisman) of a tier higher. The ilvl was determined by an averaging of the five slotted with a weighted average of three of the highest ilvl, 2 of each of the mid levels and 1 of the lowest (divide by 10 you get your ilvl). The rarity by a percent chance distribution. How do I remember this …it scarred me forever.

This mechanic was so awfully tedius there was a significant dropoff in people engaging with the mechanic and playing in general. Getting anything good required playing this insanely rng and arithmetic dependant mechanic that was a HUGE turn off to a lot of players. I absolutely hated talisman league. The league was not folded into the core game, for good reason.

So from what I’m gathering we have tiers of nets to capture tiers of beasts that need a prerequisite net to capture a certain tier. On top of this we need a certain amount of beasts captured to do a craft, which also requires us to fight beasts in a pit that are dangerous to acquire the craft, which also may or may not be rng dependant as well. I’m gonna assume like all crafting there’s some deterministic properties and some rng and these are budgeted accordingly.

The capturing of beasts requires the ability to stop dps, which makes some builds significantly less viable in a league where there are revamps to make more playstyles viable. Vorici is among the least popular masters because his mission requires special control of your character over packs of monsters/individual exiles that players honestly cannot be expected to reliably control. Many people solve vorici by simply blasting through and if it fails, oh well hope I see you again later master assassin.

I think we all need to just try it. It might not be so bad. What if the first 7/8 nets are in story mode with the last two in yellow/red maps? That’d be pretty easy to manage. The in-game currency is available at the professional online gaming house. The interested gamers can poe buy orbs from those professional online gaming houses in the most affordable cost.
