What the Difference is Between the Path of Exile PC and XBox One?

“Our philosophy here is trying to bring a hardcore PC game to the Xbox to find the hardcore Xbox players, as opposed to ‘dumbing it down’ (as people say) to make it appropriate for what they perceive console players to be,” said Chris. “We believe console players are just as capable as PC players, so we’re going to give them a similar experience.”

With coming off the successful launch of Path of Exile’s 3.1 launch, Grinding Gear Games has released an XBox One version for nearly every region around the world. Path of Exile on XBox One, like it’s bigger PC brother, is free to play and can be found simply by searching for it on XBox One store. Players can also buy POE xbox currency.

You might be wondering what the difference is or what may be missing between the PC version and XBox One version. Well for starters, the XBox One version as you might imagine uses controller rather than keyboard and mouse. Because of this, navigating menus and such is going to feel quite different. The UI as seen in the trailer, is also dramatically different. Reading from around the web, the community seems split on it’s design while also noting a lack of an option to scale the UI to a different size. There are no chat channels, no custom loot filters, no guilds, and there is no cross-play with PC. As far as when or if any of those missing features would make it to XBox One is anybodies guess.

Trading is also handled quite differently. Chris described the system as a ‘garage sale’ where players can search for a type of item and hundreds of choices will come out: some good and others not so much. This type of system would be more much convenient with a controller while not allowing players to instantly upgrade themselves with the perfect gear.*

Path of Exile is free to play, so if you own an XBox One, I see no reason not to try it. If anything, the more people are playing and giving feedback, the better and faster support it will likely get in future patches.

Beginner’s Guide to Terminology in PoE

New players that are looking to better understand what the heck are people saying in chat or forums might find it useful to have a glossary of most commonly used terms, acronyms and abbreviations in Path of Exile. But what do these words actually mean? It’s not too hard to grasp the basics, but understanding how these concepts play into your own mastery of a particular game is incredibly important.

1) Passive skill tree

  • RT – Resolute Technique (keystone passive found near the Marauder starting area which gives you 100% hit chance but you are unable to critically strike)
  • CI – Chaos Inoculation (passive in between Witch and Shadow tree, your health is 1 but you are immune to Chaos damage)
  • IR – Iron Reflexes (bottom right side of the Duelist tree, converts all of your Evasion into Armor)
  • BM – Blood Magic (bottom left part of the passive skill tree, you have no mana and your abilities use health instead as resource); also used for support gem that has the same effect
  • EE – Elemental Equilibrium (enemies you hit with a certain elemental damage gain resistances to it but lose resistances to other elemental damage types)
  • US – Unwavering Stance (you can’t be stunned)
  • PA – Pain Attunement (30% more spell damage when on low life)
  • VP – Vaal Pact (your life leech applies instantly)
  • EB – Eldritch Battery (converts all of your energy shield into mana)
  • GR – Ghost Reaver (life leech applies to energy shield)
  • MoM – Mind Over Matter (30% of damage is taken from mana before life)

2) Skills and gems

  • CS – Culling Strike
  • LMP/GMP – Lesser and Greater Multiple Projectiles, two support gems that add additional projectiles to a particular ranged ability
  • EK – Ethereal Knives
  • FP – Freezing Pulse
  • 20/20 – signifies a level 20 gem with 20% +quality
  • EA – Explosive Arrow
  • LA – Lightning Arrow
  • RoA – Rain of Arrows

3) Currency

  • Ex – Exalted Orb
  • CH – Chaos Orb
  • GCP – Gemcutter’s Prism
  • Alt – Orb of Alteration
  • Fus – Orb of Fusing
  • See currency exchange rates for a better understanding of trading ratios.

4) General

  • GG (items) – frequently used term to describe “godly gear” items, high-end valuable equipment with often maxed attribute rolls
  • Spork – name for a very popular dual Spark totem build (Spark + Fork)
  • C/O & B/O – “Current offer” and “Buyout“, often used by players selling items
  • PST/PM – “please send tell” and “private message“, usually used by players who want you to message them for whatever reason
  • AoE – “area of effect“, used to describe skills and abilities that can affect multiple targets at once (examples being Cleave, Firestorm, various curses etc.)
  • WTB/WTS/WTT – “Want to buy“, “Want to sell” and “Want to trade“
  • RNG – literally “Random Number Generator“, stands for the randomness of something in the game
  • 6S/6L – referring to an item with “six sockets” or “six linked sockets”; can also be 6S/5L, 5L, 4L, etc.
  • iLvl – item level: every item in the game has a specific iLvl depending on the level of the area you are in (for example if monsters in the area are level 30 items will be iLvl 30 as well). You can check iLvl by picking up and holding an item from your inventory and typing /itemlevel in chat. In essence iLvl determines how high the stats on an item can be.

5) MTX – Microtransaction

  • Legacy – legacy items are pre-nerfed versions of items which retained their old, typically higher values. Example includes Kaom’s Heart: only +500 health version can drop now, but +1000 health Kaom’s Hearts are legacy and extremely expensive due to limited supply.
  • Character
  • STR, DEX, INT – Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence
  • IIQ/IIR – Increased Item Quantity and Increased Item Rarity (see: How IIQ & IIR works)
  • MF – Diablo term which stands for “Magic Find“, combined stats that increase your chances to get more rare equipment
  • IAS/AS – Increased Attack Speed
  • ES/AR/EV – Energy Shield, Armor, Evasion
  • Res – Resistance

War for The Atlas Now Launches on XBOX One – Path of Exile

The last couple of several weeks, we’ve observed the recognition of POE has truly began to develop. Grinding Gear Games released a new expansion for Path of Exile, called War for the Atlas. War for the Atlas is available now on Xbox One, as the PC version launched over a week ago. The game looks stunning on the standard console but even better on the Xbox One X, as it runs at native 4K 60 FPS and features enhanced effects. Now, you can buy poe xbox currency.I am glad to tell you U4gm POE currency is a good choice.

Path of Exile: War for the Atlas features 32 new randomized maps and a host of new challenges and rewards as players find themselves caught between two powerful entities battling for the control of Wraeclast – The Elder and The Shaper.

War for the Atlas Features:

1) War for the Atlas

A mysterious entity known only as The Elder haunts the Atlas, spreading decay and battling The Shaper for control.

The Atlas, Redrawn: Find your way to the center of the Atlas through new paths and discover new challenges along the way. War for the Atlas adds 32 randomized maps to Path of Exile’s ever-evolving end-game.

2) New Bosses

Along with deadly encounters at the end of each new map, this expansion introduces the four Elder Guardians, whom you must defeat before you are able to face the Elder himself.

3) New End-game Items

As the war between the Shaper and Elder rages, challenge their control of the Atlas to find exclusive new rare items that have special properties: Shaped Items and Elder Items.

Coinciding with the launch of Path of Exile: War for the Atlas, we’re introducing the Abyss Challenge League. You Have to Know About Hiding and Strike in Path of Exile!

Path of Exile 3.1 War for the Atlas is now live! A lot of features have been added to Path of Exile. Grinding Gear Games keep the game fresh continually while maintaining free-to-play status online, and doesn’t seem like easily. However, with a loyal player base that has kept coming back for more, there is so much work to do. One of those additions is the Hideouts and botting, Since the mechaincs for Hideout using in Path of Exile are somewhat ‘unpremeditated’ you should be aware of the following:

You will be way less effective and loose big amounts of everything (items/PoE currency/maps/everything)!

Why is that?

The following is a quick work routine.

Each time you come back from a normal zone via TP or via chickening, you end up in the TOWN not in your hideout! To know that is crucial for understanding why hideout & normal zones farming is useless!

Now what happens when Hideout-Option in Exiled Bot is that ofcurse the bot enters the hideout quickly after it entered the normal town (i.e after Inventory full)
Next step for the bot is identifing / selling / stashing and so on.

But what happens next is that the bot starts a new instance of the zone you setup for botting. This is due to the fact that the bot is only able to continue you previous run (in the previous instance of the zone you farm) if it detects an active TP to that zone.
Now thats an issue because our TP back to our recent zone is located in the normal town and we (the bot) are in our hideout!

The most common reasons for the bot leaving an instance is:
Full inventory
timeout
chickening
zone is clear

At least for me the first point (full inventory) happens most frequently (by far)
If the bot leaves an unfinished instance because of a full inventory it is most likely that you just killed a boss/rare or opened a strongbox.

Again, at least for me, most of the recently dropped items could not get picked up because my inventory was already full. (also a good example is a vaal zone: The VaalChest gets often opened after the group of magic mobs got killed and looted, so the vaalfragment is mostly the last item which gets looted)

So long text short conclusion for hideout-option enabled but botting normal zones:

Every Item you leave on the ground in your current zoneinstance is 100% lost (doesnt matters if its a unique or an mirror which you left behind)!

Each rare monster / boss not killed before leaving for clearing up you inventory will not be killed!

Not necessary to say that you have no advantage either way for using the hideout when farming normal zones…

Just wanted to say that because many people dont know that. Not because they are stupid but maybe because they never thought about that.

I’ve also firstly realized this issue when i lost eternal orb due to that and i was luckily infront of the monitor. We also can tell you that many of the people we have spoken to who have come here to buy Path of Exile 3.1.0 currency are very excited for this, as are we.

Introducing the New Map Stash Tab in Path of Exile

The new Map organises the maps by tiers then by base type, and has a separate sub-tab for each type of map (with shaped and unique ones separate).

One Map Stash Tab can store the equivalent of dozens of regular Stash Tabs and comes with the added convenience of an in-built sorting system. It’s also possible to name your tabs and make them public for trading! If you have legacy maps from Path of Exile’s past, you can right click on your Map Tab while it’s empty to change what series of maps it is set to, as it can only hold maps from one series at a time. Different series are indicated by different background map art.

This looks great to me, but it could really use a few improvements.

First, it needs fragment slots. It would be great if you could select the map type under a fragment tab rather than the specific fragment. For example, you first choose Atziri, then a single slot for each kind of fragment appears below. This way you can stack each fragment and control click one of each when needed instead of going through all of them to find all 4 fragments. This also applies to stuff like breaches, offerings, etc.

Second, it could really use a way to upgrade your maps (I mean the 3 map recipe) more efficiently like the essence tab.

Lastly, it would be nice if we could have a shortcut to all important Exalted orbs used to roll maps somewhere accessible (e.g. on one of the sides). The best way to implement this, if at all possible, would be for your orbs to be removed from your currency tab (assuming you have one) the moment you use them rather than having to split your currency. That being said, if splitting Path of Exile currency is unavoidable, it would still be helpful to have a slot for each type of relevant currency there.

Not sure if some of these suggestions are feasible, but they would make the stash tab a lot handier in my opinion. Do you have any suggestions for the new Map Stash Tab? If you want to more about poe news, you can visit https://www.u4gm.com/path-of-exile
