Following Boro’s promotion to the Premier League , the Riverside Stadium is expected to be included for the first time as a featured ground.

As part of an official licensing agreement, FourFourTwo claims every top-flight ground in the Premier League has to be included on the game.

That means Boro fans are likely to be able to play as their idols at the Riverside – with EA Sports’ famed attention to detail set to show Boro’s home ground in all its glory.

Newly-promoted sides Burnley and Hull City both had their respective stadia on FIFA 2016, and that is expected to be the case again.

But when contacted by The Gazette, an EA Sports spokesman said the full list of featured grounds “won’t be confirmed until much closer to launch.”

This week, EA Sports gave fans a sneak peek into what appears to be a new story mode on FIFA 17.

It shows a fictional character, Alex Hunter, getting his big break with Manchester United and working his way up to the Premier League.

The trailer revolves around Hunter’s life both on and off the pitch, showing cut-scenes of the player meeting managers, agents, looking at houses and in the dressing room before games.
